Justice, justice shall you pursue, that you may thrive and occupy the land that your God יהוה is giving you.  Deuteronomy 16:20

At the core value of the Social Action Team we pursue our beliefs and take action in fighting for social justice. Justice is for all in society regardless of their being in any way Jewish, of a Jewish community, or any religion, age, gender, color, race, background, or current situation. We are called to take action in the pursuit of Justice. justice in the laws and equally of how we treat others.

We are dedicated to taking action in fighting the injustice that happens in society, to ensure that all who struggle have a heard voice. We do this with compassion, as we serve the community, near and far. In the past we have been involved in voter education, foster children, refugee awareness, animals in shelters, blood drives and more. We have a goal to continue and expand in numerous ways of bringing justice through action.

Tzedek Tzedek Tirdof       צדק צדק טירדוף    Justice Justice you shall pursue.

May we all repeat this over and over again until justice has been brought to ALL.

The Congregation Albert Social Action Committee (CASAC) works to educate, motivate, direct, and support congregation efforts to further identify, understand, and alleviate social injustice in our community as a way to fulfill tikkun olam. The CASAC upholds our mission by providing members with opportunities to engage in projects, events, and educational activities that are rooted in Torah and Reform Jewish values.  The CASAC is currently chaired by Rebecca Trujillo-Bennett and Jessica Ward.

Examples of our work over the years include assisting asylum seekers, hosting blood drives, collecting and donating clothing and food, sponsoring guest speakers, and hosting book clubs.

We are a welcoming, inclusive, multi-age committee (even teens can join!), always looking for new members who want to participate at any level. We meet on the third Thursday of the month in-person (COVID restrictions permitting) and on Zoom. For questions, more information, or a Zoom link to our next meeting, e-mail us at
