Congregation Albert volunteers recognize their own good fortune while serving a nutritious dinner to Albuquerque’s needy at Project Share once each month. Three teams rotate in purchasing, cooking, and serving the chile con carne, salad, corn, fruit, tortillas, and cookies that get grateful compliments from the loners and families relying on Project Share to get them through another day. The teams are weary, but gratified, when they finish. They’ve been able to “do something that matters”.
Project Share provides social service counseling as well as serving meals. Project Share delivers food boxes to homebound clients, and it always needs plastic containers, personal grooming supplies, and kitchen items.
Julia Kalmus, Leslee Richards, and Louise Adelstone are team captains. Join them as a regular or occasional participant via calling Sally Greenbaum at 883-1818.
