Join Sisterhood

Sisterhood membership provides a collective identity for the women of Congregation Albert. It also provides an outlet for the creative energy, talent and leadership potential of women in the Congregation.

The Sisterhood of Congregation Albert provides financial support for many temple functions and activities annually, including:

• Religious school
• Youth Groups
• Adult education
• Operating fund
• B’nai Mitzvah and Confirmation class gifts
• Onegs
• Kitchen upkeep and supplies
• Special projects and scholarships.

Other activities of Sisterhood are:

• Operating the Gift Shop
• Sponsoring the Purim carnival
• Supporting many social action, health and well being causes/charities within the greater community
• Rallying to special needs, such as providing food, clothing and money to aid of victims of hurricane Katrina
• Holding a wide variety of social meetings and functions for members of all ages and interests
• Providing opportunities for women to learn together religiously and spiritually

Who makes up our Sisterhood? We’re married, single, widowed, and divorced. We are with no children, small children, grandchildren. We are born Jews and Jews by choice. We are native New Mexicans and new comers. We work in the home, out of the home, or are retired. We value our diversity and what each person brings to the mix.

Are we complete? Not without you as a member.
