From the President - February 2006
Dear Friends,
This is an exciting and busy time for our congregation. Our Rabbi has signed a five-year contract, which commences in July 2006. We are in the process of hiring two new senior staff members, a religious educator and an administrator. We are also revamping several committees. Needless to say, there are ideas, opinions and meetings galore as we explore new ways to meet the growing needs of our synagogue while assuring its efficient operation.
Fortunately, our endeavors are made easier by the detailed historical congregational data painstakingly compiled by the Strategic Analysis Task Force. The Youth Initiative Task Force presented its findings to the Board of Trustees about more appealing programming for young people and how to implement such programming. Our current administrator is working closely with both senior staff and the Board to create an overview of how best to organize and execute the myriad tasks required by a synagogue of our size. Our Board of Trustees, along with many volunteers, is working diligently to develop an infrastructure to accomplish these goals successfully. It is quite a juggling act, but we are blessed with both staff and volunteers who are committed to the care and continuity of our congregation.
So, please accept my heartfelt thanks for your participation in this community. We are most grateful for everyone's contributions of time, goods or services, and monetary donations. All of these enable Congregation Albert to be our home for worship, learning, socializing, or social action. You are each a blessing.
B'shalom,
Shawn Perry-Turner
