Committee News - January 2006
From the Social Action Committee
This is a good time to remind ourselves how precious life is, and that every day is a gift. We send a Todah Rabah to Judy Smith for all her years of service to the Albuquerque community. She is taking a hiatus from this committee, and we can't thank you enough, Judy.Big Brother/Big Sister needs more volunteers. If you have an interest in young people and time to spend with them, contact Renee Ashley at www.bbbs-cnm.org or by phone at 505-837-9223, ext. 11.
Through February, we are collecting children's clothing, books, school supplies, and adult clothing to bring to Cuidando Los Ninos, a daycare for homeless children. These moms and kids are working hard to put their homes and family life back in order. Open your hearts, closets and pocketbooks for them. We also need adults and teens to work with these families one day a week. Let us know if you would enjoy working with children, ages 6-14.
B'shalom,

Todah Rabah to volunteer Jo-Anne Duchen
For seven years, Jo-Anne has volunteered her design talent skillfully, artistically and patiently to make our bulletin a reality. Over 850 mailings of our bulletin, produced by an all volunteer team, go all over the country as a representation of our Congregation. This task requires many hours of manipulating multiple articles and images into one cohesive publication. We are grateful for her generosity and talent, and wish her happiness filling her new found time with new adventures.
