From the President - September 2005

As we take personal inventory during Elul in preparation for the High Holy Days, we may discover that some things are missing from our lives and more likely, we will want to add them in the New Year. Should this resonate with you, please direct your attention to our synagogue. Why? Because there's a very good chance that what you're looking for is right here.

Need to enrich your spiritual life? Join us for weekly Shabbat services and Torah study, and for meditation every other Shabbat. Our Rosh Chodesh service welcomes each new month, and we celebrate holidays and festivals throughout the year. For our younger congregants, each month we offer Limud Hat'filah the second Shabbat for Hebrew school students, and Tot Shabbat one Sunday.

Need intellectual stimulation? Depending upon your age, enroll in our Religious School or our Adult Education program. Have flexible lunch times? Check out our monthly Open Mind luncheon, and in spring, our "Lunch & Limud" program.

Want to meet people, socialize and nurture new friendships, while participating in Tikkun Olam, repairing our world? Investigate the possibilities through Sisterhood, Brotherhood, TASTY, and our Social Action Committee. Sing out with our choirs: HaShirah, Teen Choir or Zamir. Join one of our many committees that work to enrich our community, from our physical plant to our schools to visiting the bereaved.

So remember, whatever your passion - education, children, reading, care giving, cooking, singing, organizing, volunteering - there is a place for you in our congregation to explore an interest, share a talent, or develop a new skill. We look forward to seeing you.

B'shalom,
Shawn Perry-Turner
