Congregation Albert Sisterhood - August 2005
Sisterhood News
Recently I was talking to a fellow congregant about Sisterhood and she asked "Isn't Sisterhood an informal group?" I quickly responded that we are part of the Women of Reform Judaism, with over 100,000 women worldwide. Membership gives us a voice in national and world affairs. I explained that we perform many activities that support Shir Tikvah as well as our community. I wondered how many other members are unaware of the many facets of Sisterhood.Sisterhood brings us together for friendship, social activities, study, and programs to benefit the community. It fosters the pride of knowing that you can tackle the problems of society.
We have an incredible group of devoted women who carry the torch. This year we started a new tradition to honor our women for exceptional and long standing service. The Woman of Valor Award 2005 was given to Arlene Paglia, a member of Sisterhood for over 37 years. We are proud to count her among the pillars of our Sisterhood!
We hope that you will take a few moments to learn more about CA Sisterhood. Even if you are unable to attend our meetings or events, we need your support.
Please mark Saturday, August 27. We will have a fundraiser Spaghetti dinner and Family Games.
