Committee News - August 2005
From the Social Action Committee
We extend many thanks to the Congregation Albert Sisterhood for their generous donation in support of students at Dolores Gonzales Elementary School. Once again, we help ensure that the students are ready to learn. Sisterhood has set us well on the way to that goal with their fabulous support. THANK YOU!!
Look for Collection Boxes in the Foyer:
The Social Action Committee will support another year of rotating collections which aid needy members of the Albuquerque community. During August and September it is the Back to School/Ready to Learn Project. We hope to fill the basket many times with school supplies such as pencils, markers, glue, notebooks, and backpacks for students at Dolores Gonzales.
Project Share, Adopt-A-Highway, and JFS Food Pantry need your support.
Adopt-A-Highway helps keep our environment clean. Mark your calendar for Sunday morning, October 2, 9:00 am, at I-25 Exit 242. Contact Barbara Reeback at () to sign up; coffee and pastry served at their house afterward.
Project Share: Join a team which quarterly provides a meal for the homeless. This is a rewarding opportunity to do your part from home or in person. Contact a team leader: Louise Adelstone, Julia Kalmus, or Leslee Richards for more information.
In addition to these activities, we encourage you to bring new projects to our attention. Thanks to the generosity of Congregation Albert members and the hard work of volunteers, we have succeeded in helping many people this past year. New members are welcome!!
