Bat Mitzvah - August 2005

August 6 Shalom! My name is Levi Nava-Tyma. I live in the east mountain community of Cedar Crest. This fall I will be entering my eighth year with Calvert School. My Mitzvah projects have been and hopefully will continue to be ongoing projects. The first one is helping Magen David Adom of Israel, by raising funds for specific medical supplies and equipment. This project is very close to home for me because my father is a Lieutenant with Albuquerque Fire Department. My other Mitzvah project is collecting and giving toys, clothes, and other items throughout the year, to families in the surrounding Navajo Pueblos. Please join my family and me as I read from the Torah for the first time as a Bar Mitzvah. |

August 20 Shalom. My name is Corrina Feldman. I will become a Bat Mitzvah on August 20, 2005 or the 15th Av 5765. My parents are Carol and John Feldman. I will be in the eighth grade at Sandia Prep this year. I am involved with Young Judea. I enjoy being on the swim team for TCA, singing, and this will be my fourth year with the New Mexico Allstate Choir. For my mitzvah project, I am feeding the endangered prairie dogs with the organization Prairie Dog Pals. I also help lead Shabbat services at the Shalom House, along with other small mitzvot like cleaning graffiti, wrapping holiday presents for homeless children and feeding the homeless with Project Share. I look forward to having you share this happy experience with me. |

September 3 Shalom! My name is Brett Howard. I am going into the eighth grade at Albuquerque Academy. I enjoy art, and playing soccer, piano and guitar. For my mitzvah project, I am helping to start a recycling program at Congregation Albert. I am also encouraging people to recycle at home. I would like you to join my parents, Robin and Arnold Howard, my brother Kyle and me, as I am called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah. |
