Congregation Albert Sisterhood - June/July 2005
Sisterhood News
The Year in Review
What a great year for the Sisterhood of Congregation Albert! Looking back to last summer, we remember some
of the highlights of our year:
- Informative and entertaining programs covering a wide range of topics from stem cell research to pioneer Jews
of New Mexico to flamenco to a funky mystery set in Clovis to women's heart health.
- Fundraisers that helped us meet our goals, including our trip to the Santa Fe Opera, the amazing Purim Carnival,
our whimsical aprons, the Gift Shop, our upcoming Rummage Sale and more.
- A new focus on study and worship, leading to our first Gathering event at the Hyatt Tamaya, which drew 50
women together for a fantastic overnight Jewish journey.
- Continued growth and introspection that led to a by-laws revision, attendance at the WRJ Presidents Leadership
conference, participation in a series of management learning sessions, and attention to streamlining administrative processes.
- Commitment to our congregation through donations to the Religious School, Adult Education, Youth Group, the
Temple's operating expenses line, kitchen upkeep, scholarships, and the establishment of a Youth Development Fund.
- Our continued support of WRJ's YES Fund, the Braille Institute, and the World Union of Progressive Judaism,
as well as participation in local community social action programs.
Even as the program year draws to a close, we are already gearing up for another year of service to our congregation,
our community, and our Sisters. Our deepest thanks go to our energetic and creative Board and our dedicated members.
B'shalom,
Linda Hayon and Marina Rabinowitz, co-presidents
