From GatewaysGateways Program Introduction for 2005-6
Family Shabbat and Potluck Dinner July 15, 6:00 pmOne of you is Jewish, the other is not. What about the children? Is yours an interfaith family unaffiliated with any congregation or religious group? Do you know others like you? If so, they probably won't see this article, and we hope that you will share it with them.
Allow us to introduce our Gateways programs, a Jewish experience for children, along with an opportunity for the family to explore its unique mix. Gateways is a non-pressured introduction to Judaism, recognizing and appreciating the diverse background of each family. For children, it includes stories, crafts, music, and friends; for parents, there is learning and dialogue, a review of the basics of Judaism, sharing experiences, considering options for their families' religious orientation, and experiencing Temple life.
This Congregation Albert program is open to interfaith families in which one partner is Jewish. Temple membership is not required, and there are no fees. The program meets periodically over two years.
Please share this information with others, or relay their contact information to Judie Ning, so that we can invite them to join us. Or, feel free to bring them yourself! The potluck will be simple, the dinner informal, but we do need your RSVP. There is no regular family dinner scheduled for July.
If you are not sure that Gateways is the right program for you or others, call or e-mail and chat, or come to the Shabbat and we'll talk about options. Please let us know who is coming by July 5. RSVP to Judie Ning at .
