From the President - May 2005
Dear Friends:Each year at this time we ask that you renew your financial commitment to your congregation. The Finance Committee, in cooperation with the professional staff, has done a superb job in holding expense growth to 4.2% next year. This is in the face of another sizable increase in health insurance, which is an area that continues to challenge us.
Last year more than 200 members increased their dues by 5% or more. I'm confident that your response to this year's drive will be equally as generous. Our 2% Fair Share dues policy recognizes that as a temple community we have a collective responsibility to pledge according to our means. Our basic dues target this year is $1,620. Those that can do more will be performing the mitzvah of helping others who are unable to meet this target. If your resources allow, please join one of our pledge circles. And let me reassure those with limited resources that all are welcome to enter our gates.
For those who prefer to pay by credit card, we ask that you help offset the cost of accepting your card with an annual donation. A reminder, too, that it is less expensive for us to physically swipe your card than to hand enter your card's details.
Please complete your pledge form and return it to the office now. Be as generous as you are able. A submitted pledge form will ensure timely receipt of your tickets for the High Holy Days. I look forward to seeing you at our annual meeting on Sunday, May 22nd at 7:00 PM.
B'Shalom,
Gary Singer
