News From the ECC
Shalom and welcome to Congregation Albert's 2 and 3 year old class. My name is Bonnie Bernstein and my family and I have been members of our temple since 1988. I have been teaching the 2s and 3s for the past 9 years and I have also taught first grade Sunday school.
My assistant this year has been Chrissy Green. We offer a gentle introduction into the school environment. Through our curriculum, our children begin to understand the concept of sharing, cooperation and responsibility. We teach our students basic Hebrew phrases, blessings and, of course, traditions. Our children learn about each Jewish holiday through stories, songs and art projects. We visit various parts of the building to assist in our teaching. The gift shop, where we are shown all different types of Chanukiot and dreidels, the library to hear a story and the kitchen to say "Boker Tov" (Good Morning) to the Friday morning challah bakers all enhance the learning experience for our school's youngest students.
Secular learning comes into this mix as well as discussions of the world around us. We talk about the seasons, learn to recognize various shapes and learn about ourselves through our classroom play.
We look forward to continuing to provide a warm, nurturing early Jewish experience to your young children.
B'Shalom,
Bonnie Bernstein
