From the Social Action Committee

We want to thank all of you who donated so generously during our collection for Healthcare for the Homeless. We were able to deliver coats, sheets, blankets, skin care products and, even a few stuffed animals. I hope you realize what a difference you make in the lives of the less fortunate. Thank you again.

Our next collection drive will be for the children of Dolores Gonzales Elementary School. We will begin collecting in June and continue through September. The children will need uniforms, i.e. white or tan polo shirts and tan shorts or pants. Sizes 8-16 will be great.

The children will also need school supplies. Backpacks would be greatly appreciated. The children need notebooks, paper, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, rulers, glue and all other school supplies. We thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

We also want to acknowledge our chili teams and their captains. We have 3 teams that prepare chili dinners 4 times a year. We are always looking for new team members. If any of you wish to join a team, just call one of the captains listed below:

Louise Adelstone, Julia Kalmus, or Leslee Richards

These are true examples that many hands make light work. Come join us. Thank you for your support. Without your participation we would not be able to reach out to others as we do.

Toby Friedman and Judy Smith, Social Action co-chairs.
