From the President - January 2005
Shalom Chaverim:Cantor's Installation: Excitement is in the air as plans continue to move forward to formally install Cantor Barbara R. Finn the weekend of January 28-30. In her brief time with us, Cantor Finn and her husband, David, have quickly become integral members of our temple community and friends to many of us.
In addition to Cantor Finn's installation at Friday's Shabbat, led by Rabbi Daniel Freelander of the URJ, we are also fortunate to have one of the shining stars in contemporary Jewish music, Julie Silver, in concert on Saturday, January 29th. This event will be followed by a wonderful Symphony of Sweets dessert. Please refer to the front page for additional events along with their starting times.
This promises to be a very special event and I look forward to sharing this weekend with all of you. Special thanks go to the wonderful, energetic committee led by Adam Slavin that has organized and publicized the activities for this weekend.
Bookkeeper: As many of you know, our bookkeeper/accountant, Alan Stearns, has left us for a more humid climate, Atlanta. As we thank Alan for his dedication to the financial well being of the temple and wish him well, we welcome Carla Guerin as Alan's replacement. The next time you're in the office, take a moment to introduce yourself to Carla and make her feel welcome.
B'shalom
