Additional Information About The Cantor's Installation:

On Friday, January 28, 2005, we will celebrate the installation of Barbara R. Finn as our congregation's cantor. Many of us have already been touched by Cantor Finn's warmth, knowledge and musical artistry. We hope you will mark your calendars to come to the temple for the weekend's activities, including the following:

• The installation will take place at the Friday night service, with Rabbi Daniel Freelander, Vice President of the Union for Reform Judaism and one half of the contemporary Jewish music duo, Kol B'Seder, who wrote and performed songs that are now standards in synagogues around the world. Zamir and the choir from B'nai Israel will jointly raise their voices in song starting at 8:00 p.m.
• After Havdalah at 7:00 p.m., a gala concert on Saturday evening by renowned Jewish musicians Julie Silver and Rabbi Freelander, joined by Rabbi Black and Cantor Finn, will be followed by a catered "Symphony of Sweets" dessert reception. Julie Silver is a shining star in contemporary Jewish music who leads her listeners on spiritual and emotional journeys with songs in the style of Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, and Joan Baez, with accomplished guitar playing and wonderful singing. We'll have the best desserts Albuquerque has to offer: fabulous chocolate goodies of all kinds, tarts, cookies, fruits, sugar-free options and more. The concert and dessert reception is $18 per person.
• A family worship service and concert with the lively and fun Julie Silver will be held on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. for the young and the young at heart. We look forward to seeing you there!
