From the President - November 2004
Dear Friends:
We've had a large influx of new members this Fall, at least 25, putting our membership total at around 685. Welcome to all who have joined our temple community this year. We look forward to getting to know you and to your active involvement in temple life.
For those of us that have been around awhile, it becomes even more important when we see a "stranger" in our midst that we go out of our way to make them feel they are part of our community. There is, for many of us, a natural reluctance to go up to someone we don't know, introduce ourselves and say, "Welcome to our house." Try this approach on for size; these are simply family members you have not yet had an opportunity to meet.
Our congregation remains vibrant and alive because we care about one another. People want to be active because they care so deeply about their spiritual home. Whether you've just joined or have been a member for 25 years, if you've been thinking about "getting involved," there is no time like right now! Somewhere among you are the future leaders of Congregation Albert. Demonstrate your leadership by becoming a member of a committee or by volunteering your time in the office or at the school.
I invite you to contact one of our vice presidents, Leslie Pivar or Allan Levine, and let them know your interests, or give your name and phone number to our administrator, Ilana Locke.
B'shalom
Gary Singer
