From the President - October 2004
Shalom Chaverim:By now you've had an opportunity to settle into one of the comfortable chairs or the sofa in the Kalmus Lounge. Perhaps you've had a chance to visit our newly renovated offices.
The next time you are in the building, take a moment to stand in the middle of the rotunda area and look up and around you. I believe you will agree that there is an additional feeling of warmth and welcome. Hopefully this warm feeling will stay with you and comfort you whenever you enter our sanctuary. Thank you to Doug Majewski and his committee (Len Grossman, Kim Hooker, Bob Johns, Karen Kahn, Ilana Locke and Dan Newman) for their participation and oversight of this important project.
There are a few additional projects that will be addressed in the coming weeks. These were postponed because of the construction work. Using Kol Nidre Appeal funds from last year and a generous gift, we will replace the fencing surrounding the ECC playground and add a sunshade in this same playground area along with security lights at the south end of the building.
Please remember to respond generously to this year's Kol Nidre Appeal. We hope to furnish our newly renovated offices, upgrade the sound system in the sanctuary and add additional monitors to our security system. Please see my Appeal letter or call the office for details.
B'shalom
Gary Singer
