September 12 Congressional Candidate Forum
to Kick-Off Brotherhood Brunch Programs for the Year
Incumbent Republican Congresswoman Heather
Wilson and State Sen. Richard Romero, the Democrat who is
vying to replace her in Washington, will meet in a candidate
forum sponsored by the Congregation Albert Brotherhood.
The September 12 forum will be held as part of the
Brotherhood's kick-off Sunday brunch for the yearly
cycle.
Heather Wilson was first elected to Congress in June 1998 to complete the term of Congressman Steve Schiff who died of cancer. Wilson currently sits on the Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Armed Services Committee. She is the first female veteran to ever serve in Congress.
Richard Romero represents New Mexico's 12th District in the State
Senate. He was first elected in 1992 and has
served as the President Pro Tempore since 2001. Prior to serving in the State
Senate, Romero was a science and history teacher, football coach, principal and assistant
superintendent in the Albuquerque Public Schools. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and
served in Korea during the Vietnam War era.
The Sept. 12 brunch will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Social Hall of Congregation Albert. The cost is $6 for Brotherhood members and $8 for all others. Seating for the brunch, which is open to the public, is limited. Make reservations no later than September 9 by calling the CAB Response Line at 883-1818, ext. 3203, and leaving your name, telephone number, and the number of people.
