From the President - April 2004

Hello and Goodbye … It's wonderful to welcome back Rabbi Black and his family as he returns from his sabbatical. During his absence we were blessed to have Rabbi Maslin and his wife, Judy, join our temple community. We immensely enjoyed Rabbi Maslin's spiritual leadership, sermons and discussions. I heard many supportive comments, and his adult education programs were well attended. Thank you to those of you who opened up your homes to welcome Rabbi Maslin and Judy. We have new friends to stay in touch with.

Golf Event … Hopefully, the golfers among us have made plans to attend our Annual Golf Event. This important fundraiser, which is jointly sponsored by Congregation Albert and the JCC, will take place on Monday, May 10, at the magnificent Twin Warriors Golf Course, at the Tamaya Resort. Participants at this same course last year had a wonderful time. Sponsorships at several levels are still available. Please contact Steve Rogers, Michael Gross, or me to learn how you can support your Temple while having fun.

Lounge Update … The design of our new lounge is complete. It's intended to represent an open and inviting sidewalk café. We expect to file for the necessary permits this month and anticipate construction beginning in May. Of course, we will work very closely with the construction team to ensure the safety of all who enter our building.
