A Kol Nidre Appeal
The Kol Nidre Appeal is a tradition at temples throughout the country. Our congregation has chosen to make the appeal through written requests, rather than a speech from the bimah. I have sent a letter asking for your generous contribution to one or more of three appeal areas: The Israel Emergency Fund; Preservation of Congregation Albert Archives; Camp Scholarships for Youth.
The Rabbi has also sent a letter supporting this year's appeal efforts. This article is yet another reminder of our Appeal and a further request to be generous and give to our Appeal.
I think that the decision to make the Appeal through letters and Bulletin articles, rather than a speech from the Bimah, is a good one. You are probably pleased that you will be spared the burden of being asked for money during the High Holy Days. Now the trick is to make the written Appeal effective.
These three appeal areas are all representative of the values of our congregation. Please give generously to this year's Kol Nidre Appeal. Through your generosity we can support Israel in its hour of need, honor our congregation's past, and ensure our children the opportunity to connect with their Jewish heritage by participating in the summer camp experience.
Thank you for supporting our Kol Nidre Appeal.
Michael Gross,
President
