Gubernatorial Candidate Forum
The Congregation Albert Brotherhood's monthly lox and bagel brunch series kicks off the year on Sept. 22 with a Gubernatorial Candidate Forum. Invited and expected to join us will be Democrat Bill Richardson, a former U.S. Congressman from New Mexico, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and U.S. Energy Secretary; Republican John Sanchez, a first-term state legislator and an Albuquerque businessman; and Green Party candidate David Bacon, a Santa Fe energy consultant.
The event is being co-sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council of Albuquerque and Hadassah. The brunch and forum will be held in the Social Hall of Congregation Albert and will begin at 9:30 a.m., a half-hour earlier than our usual start time. The cost for brunch is $6 for Brotherhood members and spouses, and $8 for all others. The forum itself is free and open to the public.
Seating will likely fill up quickly and we hope to get started promptly; so if you plan on eating, reservations are a must. Early arrival is also recommended. If you have not been contacted by a member of the Brotherhood Calling Committee by Wednesday, Sept. 18, please call Bill Gorman and leave your name, phone number, and the number of people who will attend. Reservations may also be made by leaving the same information in an e-mail message to Brotherhood@CongregationAlbert.org.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are on Congregation Albert's e-mail list, you will not be phoned by the Calling Committee. Instead, you will receive an e-mail reminder of the program. You may then reserve your space via e-mail, or by telephone message to the Temple Office.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
Rick Nathanson, program co-chair
