From the Administrator - September 2001
Over the summer, the office staff has been busy preparing for the school year and for the High Holy Days. The building is sparkling and ready for you and your families to worship, study and fill it with wonderful sounds. Almost all the details for the High Holy Days have been finalized and we need everyone's cooperation to insure that all goes smoothly. The most challenging areas to arrange are parking, handicapped seating and childcare arrangements.
Parking by the main entrance is only allowed in the marked handicapped spaces. There will be additional handicapped parking reserved by the kitchen entrance. Parking anywhere else in front of the building is a violation of the fire code. Also, cars will be towed if parked in the Louisiana Plaza parking area north of the Temple, or in front of Furr's loading dock.
If you have requested handicapped seating, you must be seated no later than 20 minutes before the commencement time of each service. No more than 4 handicapped seats may be reserved per family. Arrangements for handicapped seating may not be considered after September 13.
Because of the legal issues associated with providing childcare, we must strictly enforce our policy that no childcare can be given unless previously arranged for through the Temple office. We hire only enough childcare providers for the families that have pre-arranged for it. Parents utilizing childcare will be required to sit in a designated section so that they can be easily located if necessary. You will need to have your childcare reservation confirmation when you arrive for services.
Please read your High Holy Day packet carefully. Additional information regarding tickets, childcare, the second day Rosh Hashanah in the mountains, Sukkot and Simchat Torah, is provided to help make your High Holy Days a spiritually rewarding experience.
On behalf of the office staff, I wish you all L'Shanah Tovah,
Judy Weinstein
