From the President - September 2000
Dear Friends,
With the New Year approaching, I have a good feeling about the state of the temple and the new year. "Things" seem to be in place or being worked on. Our prayer books with transliteration and translation help all of us non-Hebrew scholars. Membership is starting new programs to be even more welcoming to new members. Leadership development participants are working hard on projects to benefit temple life. Our grounds look good thanks to several generous contributions and the labor and devotion of many of our congregants. Adult education offerings are strong and our scholar-in-residence program is bringing in some excellent programs. Religious school and Hebrew school have already started and we are proud of the religious education we are passing on to our children. We have started Torah Tot for our youngest members. The preschool and our re-instated kindergarten offer a wonderful Jewish setting for early childhood education. Sisterhood and Brotherhood have full programs planned. The Archives Committee has a Congregation Albert History Day planned for October 29th, one that will indeed make us proud of our temple history. And giving me the greatest peace of mind, is knowing that thanks to all your contributions to the building fund (an obligation we ask of all members) we literally have a new roof over our heads.
Wishing all of you a Shanah Tovah u'Metukah, a good and sweet new year.
Karen Kahn
