This is my swan song, my last column as Sisterhood president. As of July 1st, Ellen Levy will be our new president. Ellen is enthusiastic about Sisterhood and has many good ideas to lead us to a bigger and better year. Welcome her with open arms and give her your support.

I have enjoyed being your president these past three years and thank all of you for all of your support. Sisterhood has grown in membership and scope. None of this would have been possible without the help of our Board and membership. A complete report on Sisterhood activities during this past year was available at the Annual Meeting. I will still have a place on the Board as Past President plus stand-in for Ellen when she is out of town. Congregation Albert is a very special place to me and it gives me much more than I give back. For those who are not yet involved in Sisterhood, we invite you to participate and experience our organization.

May was a busy month for Sisterhood. Our last meeting on May 8th was an evening brown bag supper with delicious desserts provided by our Board. We continue to plan alternative meetings to our Monday luncheons in the coming year as an opportunity for our working women to attend. Sisterhood Installation was held on May 12th. The service was an inspiration for all who participated.

The Donor Luncheon was held at the Albuquerque Country Club on May 18th. We were proud to have 97 this year. Entertainment was provided by two members from Musical Theatre Southwest. Many thanks to Jane Thompson and Fran Lieberman who worked so hard to make this event a success.

Joyce Friedman orchestrated the Uniongrams to our confirmands. We hope you were all pleased with these greetings.

The next Sisterhood meeting will be held Sept. 11th. We will start the new year with a delicious lunch and entertainment by members of the New Mexico Symphony. Mark your calendars now!
