From The Rose Garden - April 2000

Spring is really here. Taking our regular weekly garden walks, Jerry and I admired the rose bushes at the Michelle Goffe Rose Garden. Already they are producing young green leaves and forming buds. The wonder of new life is unfolding.

Many of you have watched the progress and have also enjoyed walking through the garden these past six years. Now that the first quadrant of the rose garden has been planted, it is time to nurture the development of the next section, never neglecting what we have already sewn.

Last August, twenty-five energetic Eagle Scouts troop members, and some eager Congregation Albert members (of a variety of ages and physical shape) gave their time, and energy to help prepare this next section of the perpetual garden. Some of you may have also seen the YMCA teenagers help with the physical work involved in this project. Working together like this makes starting this next section a reality.

Whether in celebration of an event, like a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, or in memory of a loved one, your contributions have helped to enhance the garden's growth for us all to enjoy and share. Todah rabah (thank you) as we look forward to celebrating this spring with you in the Rose Garden.
