Sisterhood News and Tributes - March 2000
March is a big month for Sisterhood! Our last regular luncheon meeting on Monday, March 13th will feature Asian food from Yen Ching Restaurant and a wonderful program in honor of Women's History Month. Sisterhood elections will be held and nominations will be accepted from the floor.
Sunday, March 19th will be the Purimillenium from 11:30 to 3:00 p.m. Sue Black, chairperson, has arranged for a costume parade, bake sale, white elephant sale, great food by Brotherhood and much more. Call Toby Fedoravicius if you still have items for the white elephant sale. TASTY will be handling the games. Many thanks to the committee people who worked to make this a success: Janet Ehrlich, publicity; Adam Schaer, TASTY liaison; Robin Sena, TASTY Advisor; Carol Feldman, Peggy Stroik, Judy Mindlin and Jana Druxman, Bake Sale. Hope to see all of you there!
Over three hundred people enjoyed the Green Chili Jam Band Concert held at Temple on Sunday, Feb. 6th. The ice cream sundaes were also a big hit. Sisterhood is grateful to Blue Bunny Ice Cream Company for their kind donation of the delicious ice cream. Many thanks to Peggy Stroik for all her hard work as chairperson. Sisterhood is grateful to all the people that helped make the concert a success, including TASTY members, Sue Black, Stan Feinstein, Art Toppston, Dave Stroik, Saul Wengrod, Marilyn Sweet, Arlene Paglia, Lydia Horowitz, Joyce Friedman, Lynn Pfeffer, and Marilyn Majewsky. Barbara Schlactus was our photographer.
Joyce Friedman, chairperson, and her committee provided a continental breakfast and a delicious homemade lunch to city clergy at the annual Clergy Day on Feb. 3rd. Sisterhood appreciation to Joyce, Shirley Hurwitz, Jan Bray, Barbara Brookins, Glenda Orchant, Trudi Handleman, and Janice Gordon for all their work in making the event such a success.
