Rabbi Rachel Sabath has an admirable
record as youth programs leader, as a teacher to all
facets of Judaism, and in helping to make Judaism
accessible both intellectually and personally. Rabbi
Sabath, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of
Wisconsin-Madison, was ordained at Hebrew Union
College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 1995. Rabbi Sabath serves on the faculty of the Wexner Heritage Foundation, as Rabbi of Congregation Shirat Ha Yam in Nantucket, MA, and teaches nationwide for CLAL: The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership. Rabbi Sabath is the author of two books: Prepanng your Heart for the High Holy Days and Striving Toward Virtue: A Contemporary Guide for Jewish Ethical Behavior. |
On Friday, March 31, from 12:00-1:30 PM., Rabbi Sabath will deliver a "brown-bag lunch" talk whose topic is "When Change Challenges: Judaism's Creative Response to Crisis."
For Friday evening Sabbath services on March 31, Rabbi Sabath will speak about "Developing Our Own Spiritual Ethics: Applying Musar (moral) Teachings To Our Interaction With Others." Evening services begin at 8:00 P.M.
On Saturday, April 1, Rabbi Sabath will lead a study luncheon on "Changing Circumstances: The Role of Women" following Sabbath morning services. The luncheon, hosted by Congregation Albert Sisterhood, begins at 1 PM.
Sunday morning, April 2, Rabbi Sabath will lead an adult-education "study nosh" in conjunction with our course On Jewish Identity. Her topic is "Making This Passover Different From All Other Passovers." Congregation Albert Brotherhood will provide a continental breakfast beginning at 10:00 A.M.
All Events are Free and Open to the Public.
