From the President - February 2000

Dear Friends,

I'm delighted that this issue of the Bulletin introduces you to the Mitzvah Circle. The Mitzvah Circle gives us the opportunity to recognize and say thank you to our many volunteers. We never say thank you enough and we truly appreciate the work done for our Congregation by our volunteers. So, we are making our volunteers members of the Mitzvah Circle so that we can publicly recognize and thank them.

Of course, I know that as you read this, you are thinking, "How can I become a member of the Mitzvah Circle?" I'm so glad you asked. There are many volunteer opportunities available at Congregation Albert and I have listed some of them below so you can see what grabs your interest. Remember, when you volunteer, not only do you contribute to the welfare of the congregation, but you will also make new friends and become an active participant in the Congregation Albert community.

Join one of our committees:

Adult Education, Archives and History, Cemetery, House and Grounds, Challah Bakers, Interfaith, Membership, Outreach, Personnel, Religious Education, Religious Practices, Security, Senior Affairs, Social Action, or Youth.

Work on a Social Action or Temple Project:

Project Share, Adopt-a-Highway, Temple Clean up Day. Join our mail crew, work in the office, be a librarian, or join Zamir.

Help organize events:

Cantor's Concert, Rabbi's Concert, Golf Tournament, High Holy Days, speakers, Shabbat dinners, Onegs.

As you can see, we have many opportunities for volunteer service at Congregation Albert. Volunteers make an enormous difference in the quality of life of our Congregation. Our goal is to have every congregant become a volunteer and therefore a member of our Mitzvah Circle.

Drop me a note or an email (President_at_ca) or give me a call, if I can help you get started in one of our many volunteer opportunities.

B'Shalom,
Karen Kahn
