From the Director of Education - January 2000
Happy New Year. Wow, the year 2000-what an auspicious and exciting time!
As the start of the year 2000 begins, we, too, have new beginnings here at Congregation Albert.
During the long range planning process it became very clear to us that a quality adult education program is very important to the members of this congregation. As you can see, the spring semester adult education courses have been included in this month's bulletin. I would like to say a special thank you to Skip Dixon for working with me once again in coordinating this program. We have tried to offer a wider variety of courses for you, and hope that you'll enjoy them.
I am also thrilled to include in the January bulletin the 5th annual Family Camp Weekend brochure and registration form. Our theme is "The 3 R's of Jewish Family Life: Respect, Responsibility & Ruach". The dates this year are January 14-16th and we will once again be returning to the Glorieta Conference Center just north of Santa Fe.
Family Camp is for everyone! Families of all shapes and sizes with or without kids are welcome. We will share a joyful Shabbat experience, study Torah, sing, and dance alongside our professional staff as well as have a great time. It is an opportunity to get closer to family members and to make new friends in a beautiful setting. We have planned time for rest, relaxation and leisure activities as well.
Family Camp is a program that is graciously supported by the Naomi and Arthur Rosenberg Fund. We are grateful to them for their assistance, which helps to make this program possible at a very reasonable cost. Please refer to the camp brochure for specific information and the registration form. If you have any questions, please call me at 883-0306.
B'shalom,
Leah Schaer, Director of Education
