Rabbi Winkler, who lives in Cuba, N.M., serves the Jewish communities of Durango, Colorado and Missoula, Montana. He is also a volunteer chaplain for the New Mexico prison system and executive director of the Walking Stick Foundation, a Jewish and Native American partnership dedicated to the recovery and preservation of indigenous spirituality.
Rabbi Winkler has written 10 books and describes himself as a rabbinical trickster and a humorist. He will speak about his journey from Orthodox Judaism to a philosophy he calls "Flexidoxy."
The brunch, which begins at 10 a.m. in the temple social hall, costs $6 for Brotherhood members and their guests, and $8 for all others.
