Rosh Chodesh - August 1999
Welcome to Rosh Chodesh!
Rosh Chodesh is the celebration of the new moon. In June of 1999 Congregation Albert's Rosh Chodesh group celebrated its 5th anniversary.
We are a community of women who support each other spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally. We meet once a month on or around the new moon. As part of our service, someone shares a midrash, which presents an opportunity for questioning, discussing and reflecting.
In honor of our 5th anniversary we are offering some exciting new programs. Come to Rosh Chodesh, Elul (August 11th at 7:00 p.m.) and learn about the mitzvah of Mikvah. Join our Tashlich service in September. Have you ever wondered what it feels like to don a tallit or have the "symbols upon you hands" and "between your eyes"? If so, join us for Rosh Chodesh on Heshvan (October 11th) when Elisheva Crowell will introduce us to the experience of these ritual practices (Tallit and Te fillin).
And don't miss our celebratory weekend, the 29th of January when we mark our anniversary with a special Shabbat service.
Are you aware that the Rosh Chodesh minyan offers a celebratory way to welcome your daughter's menarche? We welcome all women to join us to experience rites of passage from beginning to end, to see what your Rosh Chodesh group has to offer you. For more information contact Toby Friedman.
