Sisterhood News - June/July 1999

Installation services for the 1999-2000 Sisterhood Board were held on Friday, May 14th. The following women were installed:

Co-Vice Presidents Membership - Janice Gordon and Linda Jones
Recording Secretary - Rosalia Feinstein
Corresponding Secretary - Lillian Warshawsky
Financial Secretary - Lydia Horowitz
Treasurer - Ida Humphrey

Sincere appreciation to all our outgoing Board members who have worked hard for Sisterhood. We could not have done it without your help. We are very pleased that most of you will continue to serve in other capacities on the Board.

As your continuing President, I want to express my personal gratitude for your friendship, support, and confidence. Many thanks to all the members who contributed their time and efforts to help our Sisterhood grow. Your continued support will be appreciated during the coming year as we strive to make our organization even better.

It was shocking to discover that although Sisterhood annually gives $6,000 to our Religious School, only three mothers out of twenty-six students in the Confirmation Class and only two mothers out of fifteen bar/bat mitzvah students are Sisterhood members. Next year, six of our meetings will be held evenings or Sundays when we hope more women will be able to attend. We need and want your participation; we can't do it alone!

Our Donor Luncheon on May 13th was a big success with seventy women attending a delicious brunch at the Albuquerque Country Club. Many thanks to Jane Thompson and Fran Liberman for all their work.

The Program Committee has been hard at work putting together a great program for next year. Our first meeting will be Aug. 30th with Roger Melone as our featured guest. Mark your calendars!
