There are many reasons why Congregation Albert will miss Glenda, here are just a few!

Glenda was instrumental in establishing Teacher Development and Continuing Education for the Temple staff.

• She developed an annual orientation at Camp Stoney. Every year, a teacher retreat was organized, where the staff had a chance to share ideas, concerns, etc and also to study in a quiet uninterrupted place.

• She provided In-service opportunities with Scholars-in-Residence and cross-learning opportunities with teachers from B’Nai Israel and the Albuquerque Jewish Educators Alliance.

Glenda is very active in the National Association of Temple Educators. As a board member she was responsible for bringing the National Convention to Albuquerque. Because of her involvement in NATE, Congregation Albert was able to share in her travel experiences, to Israel and Eastern Europe.

Glenda introduced the GATEWAYS program to Congregation Albert. GATEWAYS provided an avenue for interfaith couples to explore Judaism and the congregation. Because of Glenda’s warm and inviting manner, many GATEWAY couples and their families have become active in the temple.

Glenda believes in CAMP!

• Camp Oranim, a week sleep-away for 8-12 year olds was her brainchild. It provided children a chance to explore Jewish friendships and themes in a safe, fun environment.

• Family Camp included the whole family, allowing families to share a weekend of fun and Jewish growth at Glorieta Conference Center.
