From the Dues Committee - May 1999

1999/2000 Dues Pledge Drive … A very large Thank You to those members who have sent in their dues pledge forms and increased their pledge for next year. This seems to be in direct response to our emphasis on monthly billing. If you haven’t sent in your pledge form, please do so today. If you misplaced your pledge form, call our temple administrator, Judy Weinstein, at 883-1818. Judy will be happy to re-send a new form; or, if you prefer, she will take your 1999/2000 pledge over the phone, saving our congregation the cost of mailing out a new form!

Remember, our dues pledge guideline is for 2% of gross income. For those earning $30,000 a year, that equates to $50 a month; if your gross income is $150,000 a year, your self-assessment would be $250 month. It is important – and necessary – for those who are able to do so, to pledge more than the actual cost of their membership, which is currently $100 a month. Your generosity beyond the actual cost of membership will help to ensure that we will be able to continue our policy of keeping our doors open to all who wish to join us, regardless of their ability to pay. It’s the Mitzvah of Tzedakah.

A reminder, too, that a pledge of $125 to $249 a month ($1,500 to $2,999 annually), will put you in the Pillar Circle for the coming year; while a pledge of $250 or more a month (minimum of $3,000 a year) qualifies you for the Guardian Circle. This year’s pledge circle participants are still talking about the warm feelings engendered during January’s circle events. Congregation Albert’s pledge circles are simply a means of saying "thank you" for helping us to serve all who wish to join us.
