Confirmation Class - April 1999

Confirmation Class 5759

Confirmation, the culmination of formal religious education for our students, will take place at
Erev Shavuot services, May 20th, at 7:00 P.M.

The entire congregation is invited to participate in this beautiful celebration of Jewish life, learning and continuity. The Confirmation Class of 5759 is a wonderful group of talented, enthusiastic and committed students. Over the past year they have studied a variety of topics with Rabbi Black that range from Jewish attitudes towards God, Prayer, Israel, and the rest of the world. The curriculum has focused around how our students can make informed, adult Jewish decisions about important issues that they will face such as: Drugs and alcohol, sexuality, capital punishment and intermarriage.

In addition, the Confirmands have studied Judaism’s relationship with Christianity - culminating in visits to, and dialogue with, two Christian churches. We are very proud of these young men and women.

We hope to see you at services on the 20th.
