From the Rose Garden - April 1999
Every year during the month of April, Jewish families all over the world sit together at the Passover table, and passionately read the Hagaddah story retelling our Exodus out of Egypt.
And every year since April 1994, Jerry and I have passionately shared with you, our Temple community, the changes to a portion of land located near the northwest corner of Congregation Albert. It was Michelles life, cut short, that initiated a dream. Our family began an ongoing perpetual project that would enable "Michelles Spirit to Live Forever". The dream of a Rose Garden was born. The first of the four quadrants of the Michelle Goffe Rose Memorial Garden has been transformed to a place of beauty and spiritual renewal. Continuing financial contributions, and ongoing volunteer help from friends, congregation members, as well as to the many hours of labor by Michelles YMCA friends, speaks of the commitment to the perpetuation of the gardens growth.
Very soon, the garden will become an integral part of an even bigger dream. Please refer to the article in this April bulletin about another lovely landscape project that is about to begin. There will be many opportunities for you to provide your volunteer time, and financial support to nurture these beautification projects enabling their growth and continuation.
Just as we view the blossoming of Israel as a symbol of life continuing for the Jewish people, so we also see the budding of the rose garden as evidence of abundant life at Congregation Albert.
