Hate on the Internet - April 1999

The access to informatioon the World Wide Web is phenomenal. Unfortunately, racists and anti-Semites have found that the ease of disseminating information has been a tremendous benefit to them as well. Thousands of bigoted sites promoting a variety of hateful philosophies now spread their messages across cyberspace.

Congregation Albert and the New Mexico Anti-Defamation League invite you to an important community program entitled

"Hate on the Internet"
with guest speaker
Sue Stengel, ADL’s Western States Civil Rights Director,
Wednesday, April 14
th at 7:00 PM at Congregation Albert.

Ms. Stengel, an attorney, oversees the ADL civil rights department for the nation’s 13 western states, a department responsible for monitoring the activities of extremist groups such as white supremacists, militias and other anti-government agitators. Ms. Stengel is also an expert on 1st amendment rights and free speech issues. She will be in New Mexico as part of "The Hate Summit" an ADL conference for law enforcement and prosecutors.

There is no charge for this program.
