Scholar in Residence - March 1999

This year, from March 25th through March 28th, our Scholar in Residence at Congregation Albert will be Rabbi Peter S. Knobel from Beth Emet The Free Synagogue in Evanston, Illinois. Rabbi Knobel received his rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College and a Ph. D. at Yale University. Among other activities, he is the Chair of the Liturgy Committee of the Central Conference of American Rabbis and is the author of numerous books and articles on Jewish philosophy and practice. Rabbi Knobel is a dynamic speaker and teacher. He is one of the pre-eminent scholars of our movement. He will address a wide variety of topics in different forums - allowing time for reflection, prayer, textual study and discussion.
