Mitzvah Day - March 1999

This year’s Mitzvah Day promises to be even more successful than last year’s. We will be contributing our time and energies to many of the same helping agencies we worked with last year, plus adding some new agencies and activities. Among the newcomers is the women’s Housing Coalition. This organization provides low income apartments for women and their children in distress.

We will be working with them in readying apartment(s) for occupancy and doing general maintenance work. This is a good example of the volunteer work we will be doing at many of the agencies we will be helping on Mitzvah Day.

Some additional organizations include New Day Shelters, Shalom House, All Faith’s Receiving Home and Cuidando Los Ninos. Each one of these agencies serves a different and diverse clientele. A full listing of all the agencies we will be helping will be mailed to you soon.

Please read this brochure and learn how you can participate in this special day. Remember, to best accomodate your preferences, we need to receive your registration form back by April 16th.

Many individuals have already volunteered to head up the activities for various agencies, but still more committee heads are needed. If you are interested in acting as a site captain, please call Marti Fournier-Revo or Lester Cohen.
