From the Administrator - February 1999
It has been eight months since I have begun my position as administrator here at Congregation Albert. I truly have been welcomed into temple life and feel part of the family. I hope that you have seen some progress since my arrival, as it certainly seems, with the help of the Board of Directors, we have made some positive changes. We have worked very hard at trimming extraneous expenses and streamlining procedures, with the focus on efficiency and fiscal responsibility. We have a great team finally in place and the temple office has a pleasantly busy atmosphere. Do come visit, and if you have some time, we just might put you to work!
Starting February 1, 1999, another major change will be instituted. Due to your overwhelmingly generous response to the Kol Nidre Appeal, we have enough funds to activate the next phase of our security system. The locked door system is already working in the Religious School Wing and we are going to lock the main entrance as well. This will be a combination system containing a keypad activated by a code and an intercom-video system. All members will be given a code which will be mailed to you in your next statement. If you typically do not get monthly statements, please call for a code. Other guests will use the intercom at the main door during business hours and will be allowed entry. We will continue to leave the door open during Services for all to come and worship with us. Of course, change is always difficult and it is with regret that security has become such a vital factor. I understand, from your response to the Kol Nidre Appeal, that you feel it is important as well.
If anybody has any questions about any of our policies, I invite you to call and discuss them with me. It has been great getting to know all of you.
