Mitzvah Day Site Captains Needed!

People interested in serving as site captains for Congregation Albert’s second annual Mitzvah Day should plan on attending an upcoming meeting, Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at 7:00 PM at Temple.

Mitzvah Day is scheduled for Sunday, May 2, 1999 and will involve approximately two dozen worthy organizations. Our goal is to reach out into the secular community, as a Congregational family, to help these organizations better serve their clientele.

Organizations will include Good Shepherd, New Day Shelters, Project Share, UNM Children’s Hospital, All Faiths Receiving Home, Roadrunner Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and many more.

We will be performing a variety of activities including:

Sorting donated food and clothing
Fixing children’s toys
Serving food to the homeless
Hands-on construction tasks
Maintenance tasks at homeless shelters
Reading to hospital bound children
Cleaning up debris along our adopted trails
Plus a myriad of other "mitzvot"

As you can see, Mitzvah Day will include a variety of tasks for all age groups.

Please consider serving as a site captain and getting your whole family involved in this special day of sharing and giving.
