The Eight Lights of Chanukah
Candle #1 Join us at the citywide Hanukkah celebration on December 13. If you can give us an hour of your time to help at our Gift Shop Booth, contact Sue Black.
Candle # 2 Celebrate the first day of Hanukkah with us at the Joint Sisterhood Luncheon on Monday, December 14. Our program will featureDavid Lockington, conductor of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. The Sisterhood of B'nai Israel will be our guests. Shirley Hurwitz will be our cooking chairperson and Trudi Handleman will oversee table decorations. Everyone is welcome!
Candle #3 Contribute to the Social Action Committee's Tzedakah Collection Drive by bringing warm winter clothing, undergarments, bedding and non-perishable food to Congregation Albert any time from December 11-20. Please separate your clothing by women, children, and men's.
Candle #4 Make plans to attend Rabbi Black's "Lunch & Limud" class beginning on Thursday, December 10 from 12:00-1:30 p.m. "To study" is one of the basic principles of Judaism and Sisterhood.
Candle #5 Circle January 11 on your calendar, the date of our next Sisterhood meeting which will feature Judge Susan Conway speaking on "Tales of a District Judge."
Candle #6 Celebrate the Shabbat with a freshly baked challah from Congregation Albert. Get your order into the Temple office by Thursday and your challah will be ready on Friday.
Candle #7 Resolve to join Sisterhood if you are not already a member. Every $3.00 of your dues goes to the YES Fund which provides help for Youth, Education and Special Projects. Our Sisterhood received special commendation at the recent 44th Biennial Assembly for our contribution to this fund.
Candle #8 Join us at Rabbi Black's Family Chanukah Concert and the Brotherhood latke dinner. Hope you and your family have a very happy Chanukah!
